This is a great article. Interestingly, I have been a nudist since 1992, and the only erections I've ever seen in a nudist venue were from a boy who appeared to be 11 or 12, and an occasional man at a beach who was purposely masturbating. I was 32 when I had my first nudist experiences, and I did get a partial erection at the worst possible time--playing tennis with a young boy. I didn't get an erection when I was a nude art model when I was in college.
I am 65 now, and I don't get erect unless I am sexually aroused. I don't even get an erection when I'm mildly aroused. At an event this past summer, a beautiful young woman did some sort of sexy stretching right in front of me, oblivious to the fact that I was standing right there. I didn't get an erection.
I'm not surprised about your young friend, but your husband's a rock star!
Thanks and an interesting and thought provoking article. I have always been of the view that erections were a normal part of a man’s life. I can see some say well you would say that you are a man
So it was interesting to read your point of view as a woman. Your comparison was interesting, one I had never considered but a very well made point.
It's not just erections - during a recent trip to a naturist camping ground, another camper remarked upon the precum dripping from my penis. I'd not been aware of it until he mentioned it!
Interesting factors that when one experienced an election, the other also go one. One has to wonder what would happen if 3 or 4 guys were together and one got erect?
I have noticed this several time. I belong to a male clothing optional campground. At the pool only occasional erections, however once one comes up, look around the pool and many others pop up. Contagious, kind of like a yawn, when you see one, then you have to yawn as well. This article is the first time I had seen it talked about.
Your post is very informative and interesting, especially from a woman’s point of view. Also the first time I’ve seen anything like this written about erections. I belong to a coed nudist club. Part of our accepted practice is for males to cover an erection with a towel should it arise (pun intended). After reading your candid discussion perhaps we should rethink this practice.
I think it is really about the comfort of the people around us. Culturally, we have been taught that a man's erect penis is sexual versus a normal body function, so it can be offputting to many people in the nudist lifestyle. We will be at a club this weekend where erections are frowned upon, so my husband and boyfriend will both keep a towel nearby in the event they get hard. But, at home and in some circles we socialize, they are not a big deal.
Been at nudist venues for decades. Random erections are rare. Playing sports, with the heart pounding, gets some swollen but it’s not erect. Getting one is not the problem, nor will you be judged poorly just for getting one, but how you deal with it will be judged. Using a towel to cover, sitting down until it passes, or simple staying in the pool perhaps facing the side, all these will be seen as trying to appropriately manage an erection. Walking around waving it in peoples faces will be seen as deviant by most people. But really, it is much rarer than textile people believe and fear will happen to them.
It’s great to get a female’s perspective on this. I observed the erection phenomenon a few times at nearby nude beach where we live. In Jamaica once, my wife and I were at a nudist resort talking to a gentleman. My wife casually mentioned we’d gone to Hedonism earlier in that day to sunbathe on Seven Mile Beach. As we were chatting, the gentleman became aroused, and within seconds of seeing his erect penis, I could feel my own doing the same. Not sure what it’s about, but I have seen it, and even experienced it.
Fascinating post! I've been to beaches, clubs and resorts hundreds of times and the only time I get an erection is when I would have had one with my clothes on. An erection for me is a lovely feeling of noticing and being noticed and with another man that mutuality is easier to recognise than with a woman. Your husband and his friends' sympathetic erections are not uncommon, in my experience. A spontaneous erection with a woman is more of a problem because, unless I know her well, I assume she will think it inappropriate and I 'cover up'. What I have found is that women can have a similar, but nowhere near as obvious, response. But because the prevailing cultural equation is [erection=intent to penetrate] I back off. On a few occasions, through subsequent chat, I found she had had a similar, but not so obvious, response. My point is that being naked is not the exciting thing - it is the other person. It is easy to communicate intelligently when male-male arousal occurs. Arousal is an obstacle to male-female communication in a nudist setting because of wider cultural conditioning. Thanks for raising this sensitive matter...
That was a wonderful way to describe the great feeling of nudity
Its health benefits. The story of the 2 guys who would frequently get erections together I however have a different take on it. I'm gay but don't shout it from the rooftops. When I go to a naturist resort. There are generally more guys. I've met a lot of men that tell me they love
.their wives and are straight but the women are not into sex..so.yjr men they like to have

As for me I think it just a normal part of life. As to covering it. I don’t unless others are disturbed to be polite.
This is a very good post, especially since it was written by a lady. Women with the same mindset are wonderful. I really liked this.
